Four successive victories, and seven wins in their last eight, have lifted Arsenal above capital rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the battle for UEFA Champions League qualification. Only Manchester heavyweights United and City have suffered fewer defeats than David Moyes' men this season, which offers an indication as to how consistent they have been.
Everton have been held back slightly by 13 draws, but they have been a constant in the push for European places and will be determined to get over that particular line.
They will also want to end the season above Merseyside rivals Liverpool, and victory in midweek would ease them eight points clear of the Reds.
